Monday, March 19

Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter
remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster
crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and
wept.  (Mark 14: 72)
 What would Jesus do?

A familiar saying, but a simple compass to our life.

It’s easy to say we are Christians, easy to say we have a Savior and
are committed to Him. But actions count. (If you talk the talk, walk
the walk.) Do our actions support our love of Jesus, or do they show
our love for ourselves? Our actions in daily life should not disown
Jesus, but rather be what we discern a Christian needs to do. We
need to wear Christ in our everyday life. When we do disown Jesus -
and being human, we will - we need to pray for the understanding of
what to do to improve in the future. We need to pray for the
understanding of how we can ‘own’ Jesus. We need to pray that we
can learn to love our neighbor as ourselves. We need to pray to learn
to be our brothers’ keeper.

What would Jesus do? We need to pray that we learn that before the
rooster crows twice.
